Shift: 3pm-11:30pm

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to perform general cleaning and custodial duties at our facility. This role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of the building and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general janitorial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, classrooms, offices, and common areas
• Empty trash and maintain waste disposal areas
• Clean windows, walls, furniture, and fixtures
• Maintain floors (strip, wax, polish, shampoo carpets)
• Set up and arrange furniture for meetings and events
• Operate cleaning equipment (floor machines, vacuums, etc.)
• Respond to spills and emergency cleanups
• Lock/unlock doors and ensure building security
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or needed repairs
• Follow proper safety procedures and use PPE as required

Qualifications

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
• Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals
• Strong attention to detail and time management
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Basic communication skills in English preferred (not required)
• Team player with a positive attitude

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Frequent bending, twisting, and reaching
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 lbs (with or without assistance)
• Repetitive hand movements and use of cleaning equipment
• Ability to work in varying indoor/outdoor conditions

Work Environment

• Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and moisture
• Work may include restrooms and biohazard cleanup
• Occasional outdoor duties and temperature changes
• May require use of protective equipment, including gloves or respirator
